In Defense of “Lazing Around”

In Defense of “Lazing Around”

The case for lazing around.

There is a lot to be said for lying on the couch, reading a book.

Or outside in the sunshine on a hammock or the patio…

As well as sleeping in or going to bed early…

… merely sitting in a comfy chair, genuinely listening to a great piece of music.

…having a meal by candlelight with those you love….

…taking a walk in nature… getting into some water… cooking, baking or repairing something around the house…

These are all ways to focus in on the delicate beauty of life.

GO GENTLY

Now more than ever, it’s time to be gentle with yourself.

If you feel more anxiety, know that it stems from fear.

When you are low on personal, internal resources, fear can take root.

Anxiety is most often rooted in adrenal exhaustion.

It’s nearly impossible not to be exhausted adrenally in today’s world.

To support the adrenal system, I’ve been drinking homemade Chaga tea every morning and evening.

Inonotus obliquus is an adaptogenic mushroom particularly good for adrenal restoration.

Chaga grows wild on birch trees in Canada and Siberia. The best way to drink it is to buy the chunks.

According to me, this brand is the best.

CHAGA CHUNKS

LAZING AROUND

Simmer four or five chunks on low for a few hours on the stovetop in a pot of water. The tea will be ready when it’s dark as a cup of English Breakfast tea.

Cool and store in the refrigerator. Drink a cup in the morning and evening. It has a very mild, satisfying, appealing flavor.

The daily ritual of taking care of your adrenals goes a long way in healing the exhaustion we are all collectively experiencing. Don’t forget to relax and take care of yourself.

And while you’re here, don’t miss this week’s intimacy positions for making lovemaking last even longer. Slow down, relax, and try one or two of these positions.

I love and appreciate you very much.
