A fan with herpes asked for my opinion about a women’s libido supplement with 700mg of arginine.
I chose not to use the amino acid arginine in our blood flow supplement, FLOW, for several reasons:
- People with herpes report outbreaks from arginine
- The arginine pathway becomes less efficient as you age
- Citrulline has been found more effective than arginine in improving blood flow
- The citrulline in FLOW is from organic watermelon
Many people suffer from shingles (Varicella zoster), Herpes I and II, Epstein Barr, Cytomegalovirus, Roseola, and other herpes-related viruses.
The LAST thing I wanted to do was formulate a supplement that would exacerbate herpes outbreaks.

Hi Maria,
Arginelle is a blood flow supplement made with L-Arginine. I would NOT recommend this if you have any kind of herpes virus, including EBV, Varicella, or HSV 1 or 2. People say that it triggers their outbreaks.
My blood flow supplement for women is made from organic watermelon for citrulline, which is more effective than arginine in improving Nitric Oxide production.

REPLACE YOUR NITRIC OXIDE
In addition to the citrulline from organic watermelon, FLOW also has nitrates from organic spinach. The supplement uses two Nitric Oxide pathways to improve performance. We also add procyanidins from pine bark — tannins that increase blood flow, along with organic Vitamin C to increase absorption of the ingredients.
If you’re very sensitive to outbreaks, it’s best to avoid nuts, chocolate, and other arginine-rich foods.
You can also take Enzymes, L-Lysine Orotate, Monolaurin, and BHT to help your immune system keep the herpes viruses suppressed. They don’t get rid of herpes. You’re stuck with them for now.
