Safe sex is as important as heart-connected lovemaking. So here’s an email from a reader asking about recommended birth control. Also, check out my response.
I talk a lot about having amazing sex.
However, one topic that is also as important as birth control.
Knowing proper and safe birth control methods prevents unwanted results.
Some methods have very nasty effects on the female body. And a lot of people don’t know about them.
That’s why it’s good that we talk about it every now and then.
So here’s an email from a reader asking about recommended birth control. Also, check out my response below.

“Hi, Susan,
I have a question about birth control. I recently entered into a relationship and have been having allergic reactions to condoms. Being 33, I used to have an IUD but plan to have kids in the next 2-3 years. My doctor wrote a prescription for a birth control pill called Lessing. I have been very against the pill as I know it’s not good to mess with my hormones.
What your perspective on this is and what you recommend for birth control?
I value your opinion.
Thank you,
Jonie (not her real name)”

Hi Jonie,
I’m so glad you asked!
You’re probably allergic to latex. Try these Trojan Supra condoms instead. They are polypropylene.
I recommend the Fertility Awareness Method first (with non-latex condoms) if you make love during your short fertile window.
If that doesn’t work for you, then I recommend a non-medicated IUD.
If that doesn’t work for you, then use non-latex condoms during your fertile window.

Make no mistake. This is a contraceptive device.
They market it as “fertility” because they can’t advertise contraception. They are two sides of the same coin. Knowing when you can get pregnant is what this device does very well. It crowdsources millions of women’s data to make your data even better.
This is not the future, this is NOW the right way to protect yourself naturally by knowing when you must use contraceptives to avoid getting pregnant. The combination of either abstinence of intercourse (you can indulge in oral, kissing, manual, etc.) or using a polypropylene/polyethylene condom during your fertile window for intercourse is a natural way not to screw up your hormones with birth control pills.
Here are videos to explain fertility and contraception.
