How To Shave Your Private Parts

How To Shave Your Private Parts

What girls and guys say about pubes and sexiness.

Here are my recommendations about how to shave without pain, stubble, or ingrown hairs using a two shaver system. The first shaver grooms hair down like a beard trimmer. The second shaver removes the stubble and makes your hairy areas smooth as a baby’s bottom. (Links below.)

I’ve been doing an informal “survey” with guys lately about genital grooming because many women would spend more time down there if the guy were better groomed. And women say that good grooming is their #1 feature in a man, even more important than emotional connection.

If you’re not well groomed, you never even get to the connection.

Just last week I was invited to a business gathering with 10 guys. They were mostly in their 30’s and because I’m a sexpert and can get away with it I took an informal survey around the table about “manscaping.”

Manscaping is when a guy grooms his pubic hair.

I asked the guys, “Who here manscapes?” Nine out of ten raised their hands. And I asked them what and how they did it.

Most of them said they whack back the growth around the base of their penis, and just a couple also trimmed the fuzz off their balls. All of them were doing it with their beard trimmer, which is why only a couple groomed all the way under. They all said beard trimmers PINCHED!

Watch this video to learn more about alternatives to waxing and shaving with this two-step process that keeps you amazingly groomed!

Shaver 1 trims down the long hair. Shaver 2 reduces the fine stubble to the skin’s surface so it’s smooth.

Susan prefers the One Blade for Shaver 1. Tim prefers the Femini for Shaver 1. We both love the Orbital trimmer for the close, soft finish of Shaver 2.

This video is for everyone across the gender spectrum. If you’re a woman whose been waxing, you can stop waxing and start using this two step system.

Waxing grows out fast. And it’s expensive and painful. Instead, just keep your pubic hair trimmed with the trimmer and use the orbital shaver just before lovemaking.

In this video, I’m talking about shaving your pubic hair, the pros, and cons, why some people do and some people don’t, and what you might like.

The way that you keep your pubic hair is completely based on personal preference.

There are absolutely no rules that say, “You need to” or “You shouldn’t.” It’s what you want, what makes you feel good, or if you’re ambivalent, what turns your partner on.

Let’s talk first about men’s pubic hair, what I like to call manscaping. For a guy, he has pubic hair that grows all around his penis and often down his cock.

There are two shavers that I recommend for guys who want to shave back their pubic hair.

I’m not suggesting you trim it all off, but you might want to give yourself a haircut.

The reason being: it makes it easier for your woman to give you oral sex.

There’s nothing pleasant or sexy about your partner getting a lot of pubic hair in their mouth, especially if they have to stop to remove a stray pube… Kinda kills the moment… 😉

You might get more blow jobs and deeper blow jobs if you don’t have a huge bush of hair around the base of your penis.

Plus, a neatly groomed look is pleasing to most women.

Grooming also makes your penis look even longer. You could get a “visual inch’ from shaving your pubic hair back a bit, even if you just trim it back with scissors.

You may also want to use these two particular razors to do a really nice clean shave without any stubble.

Stubble can be equally as unpleasant as a lot of pubic hair.

These are the two shavers that I like to use because they give both men’s and women’s pubic hair a nice clean shave without ingrown hairs or stubble.

This one is called a beard trimmer; it trims the hair down to a short length but doesn’t shave it completely off.

Depending on the texture of your hair, this might be enough that you don’t need to go with shaver number two.

It’s a circular blade that goes around and around and gets right down to your skin to clean up the stubble from the beard trimmer.

If you use the trimmer first and then shave close with the orbital trimmer, the skin around your genitals will be nearly as smooth as the rest of your body.

Of course, just like your facial hair, you have to maintain it, or you can just shave before you have sex.

If you’re having regular sex, you might want to trim your pubic hair as a regular part of your personal hygiene.

Women say the #1 thing that is MOST IMPORTANT to them in a lover is GROOMING. Get the hint?

Some women like to keep their hair completely shaved off, but more common these days is the Brazilian wax, also known as a full bikini wax, or the Hollywood wax.

A Brazilian removes all pubic hair from the inner thighs, pelvic region, vulva, labia, perineum, and anus, leaving a small amount of hair on the mons pubis, typically a thin strip.

It can be used by those who wear thong bikinis.

For a lot of women, this is both painful and expensive.

Women often get ingrown hairs from pulling the pubic hair out by the roots of the follicle.

That’s why I recommend using shaver one and shaver two as discussed earlier because that method doesn’t involve pulling the hair out by the roots. Plus, it lessens the risk of infection, which is really no fun!

The first shave with the trimmer, then use the orbital to get your genitals as smooth as the baby’s skin.

Some men don’t understand why a woman would shave her pubic hair.

There are guys that LOVE a big natural bush. For men who have daughters, the sight of hairless genitals may remind them of their little girl and can be very uncomfortable, never mind a total turn-off. In the end, it’s all a matter of personal preference.

One more sexy tidbit. It can be really fun and quite the turn-on to shave your partner or let them shave you. Some people like it. Maybe you’re one of them.

Oh… and one last thing to consider: laser hair removal. It takes several sessions over a period of months, but once you get all that unwanted hair cleaned up, you can throw away those shavers and never have to think about it again.

If you take the laser route, you must be committed to never having pubic hair for the rest of your life. So it’s a considered decision.

That’s why I like the two shavers. It’s not permanent, they don’t hurt and you can shave only when you need or want to.

There you have it. These are some of the best ways to handle the pubic hair situation.

If you have any questions about anything I’ve said or questions about something that I’ve forgotten to answer, I really encourage you to post a comment below the video.

  1. Thank You Precious!!! I have been usis an epilator or whatever there called & it pulls the hair from the roots & can hurt sometime & bleed even!! Ouch!!! I will give your 2 step system!! It sounds much less painful. You might want to mention that some guys don’t do it because if other guys see them with no hair they get teased a lot. I personally think it’s out of jealousy!!! But I like to make everything as clean and as wonderful of an experience for my lover my fiance that I possibly can give her without getting pubis in her mouth or flossing with them!!! LOL thank you for all your advice because I read your letter every day and I love it and I love you so keep up the good work we really need you on our side. I know I do because I want to be the best lover I can be for my future wife.

    • Dan, Once you try this two-step shaving system you’ll never go back to painful epilation or waxing again. And you can touch up right before sex anytime.

      • Thank u i am gohng to try the shaving system

        • The shaving system ROCKS, Joycelyn.
Let me know what you think.

  2. Is there an anatomical reason for us to have pubic hair? i.e. Did it originally have a purpose?

    • According to Dr. Sherry A. Ross, author of She-Ology: The Definitive Guide To Women’s Intimate Health. Period., “No one really knows the official purpose of pubic hair, but there are some theories:
Pubic hair (1) prevents dirt from entering the vagina, (2) keeps the genitals warm, (3) acts as a cushion during sex and exercise, (4) creates sex pheromones, which are erotic smells that excite a partner, (5) depending on the culture, is solely of decorative value.”

  3. Good info. Thanks Susan.

    • Thanks, Joe. ?

  4. Hi susan Can you use the orbital trimmer on your testicles?

    • Yes, Matt. That’s what is great about this set of shavers. First you take off the long hair with the trimmer. Then you use the orbital to get smooth and close without any cutting.

  5. Hi Susan! I’ve been using a Gillette Razor forever down there since I can remember! Shave my shaft balls and crotch every single day and never cut myself. I’m careful but it feels great after my shower and I never worry about stubble until the next mornings shower! And it definitely makes sex feel better than with all that hair down there! Bald is beautiful!

  6. I shave my genial area everytime I shower. I personally love the feel of a bald genial area. However I can’t convince my wife to do the same. She does trim it back but refuses to shave the area because she thinks that she will resumble a little girl. I go down on her all the time and would love to not have any hair to deal with. I believe a bald genial area is a thing of beauty on a grown woman. Please help me. I have suggested many times that she shave but refuses to do so.
