How Avoid UTI And Charley Horses During Lovemaking

How Avoid UTI And Charley Horses During Lovemaking

The  CURE and how to NEVER get another UTI, bladder infection or cystitis  again.

Rochelle asks what she can do about her frequent UTIs and Charley Horses (leg cramps and spasms) during sex.

Dear Susan,

I have 2 questions for you and I’m very much hoping you may be able to help.

I often get UTI’s when I have intercourse.. It’s the only time I get them and it’s very frustrating.. I’m not currently in a sexually fulfilling committed relationship, but certainly would like to be….but getting these UTI’s makes me want to shy away from having intercourse.  Can you offer any suggestions on how to avoid UTI’s and still have a satisfying sex life?

ALSO I get frequent charlie horses in my legs when I’m in bed… they can happen when I’m alone and just rolling over and worse they almost always happen during sex…. they are excruciatingly painful, I’ve been to my doctor, he has no answers for me… I’ve tried the magnesium thing, I feel like I’ve tried everything….. is this a complaint maybe others have shared with you and possibly with some solutions????

Thanks for any suggestions,

Rochelle

Dear Rochelle,

Thanks for asking these two great questions. I have answers!

Urinary Tract Infections have also been called “Honeymoon Cystitis.” The urethra — your pee tube — gets inflamed from bacteria that get up in there during intercourse. If the bacteria get all the way up into your bladder they can lodge in those nooks and crannies and get even harder to get rid of. Peeing after sex, and having his penis and hands scrupulously clean helps, but I am going to give you both the CURE and how to never get another UTI from sex again. Read on.

The most common “cure”is antibiotics. But antibiotics have horrible side effects and long term negative implications, so do ANYTHING you can NOT to take them! They will lead to digestive issues, yeast overgrowths, all kinds of miserable stuff that will make you wish all you had was a UTI.

THIS book by Angela Kilmartin is my home-based recommendation for getting rid of UTI’s without pharmaceuticals. This has worked for me time and time again until I actually figured out what to do so I never got a UTI again. She has a simple routine that includes a heating pad, an analgesic, water with baking soda and black coffee. You drink a certain amount at certain times in a certain sequence and within hours you’re feeling better.

The minute I started to feel the UTI coming on, Tim would get out this book and we’d follow the protocol. I really suffered until we got Angela’s solution. And next I’ll tell you how to never get another UTI. 🙂

I have a hunch that both your leg cramps AND your cystitis stem from stress. You are wary. Tight. Armored.

Who could blame you? If you get an infection when you have sex, you go into sex feeling wary and worried.

When you have intercourse, the friction from not being fully engorged makes it like a slippery slide right up your urethra for the bacteria.

So here’s what I want you to do.

I want you to learn how to get yourself fully engorged before you engage in intercourse.

Now, what Tim and I did was take up an Expanded Orgasm practice.

This is the program we offer by the marvelous Dr. Patti Taylor. She is one of my all-time top sexual mentors. Her knowledge of engorgement and female orgasm is only equalled by a few other women on this planet.

This Expanded Orgasm practice is essentially a genital massage technique… a clitoral stroking method… that brings a significant amount of blood to the erectile tissue in your vulva.

Once your vestibular bulbs and outer labia, mons pubis, inner labia, clitoral structure (both the tip — the glans AND the clitoral structure up inside), urethral and perineal sponges are all swollen with blood from being massaged and stimulated, your tissue will become more pliable, more resilient to the friction of intercourse.

Without a partner, you can give yourself genital massages in bed at night each night. When get a partner, teach them how to engorge your vulva before you have intercourse.

Dr. Patti has broken down the Expanded Orgasm practice into 21 “play dates” that you can do solo or with a partner. The Expand Her Orgasm Tonight program ultimately shows you how to stretch out your moment of climax so you can stay in an orgasmic plateau for a half hour or more. (I can literally come for an hour before I get tired… this comes with practice. That’s why it’s called, “a practice.”)

If you get the program and go through the audios and ebooks to learn HOW to do it, your own self-massage practice will be highly efficient and feel amazing. Then when you do get a lover, you can teach them how you like to be massaged and stroked so they can be really good at it quickly.

Believe me, you will be a stand out sexual partner to ANY many who you choose to be your lover once you’ve learned about Expanded Orgasms.

The most important thing I can tell you is: Give yourself TIME to get engorged.

Use a mirror when you’re massaging yourself to see how your pussy starts off flaccid and then as you bring blood to your vulva, it gets plumped up.

You want a nice plump, engorged vulva before having sex.

Over time, your vulva will become much more responsive to touch. Your orgasms will be longer, stronger and more pleasurable. You’ll come more easily. You’ll have more orgasms. And you’ll find that you begin to have all different kinds of orgasms — from your abdomen, your G-Area, your perineal area (up in your rectum if you want to go there with your finger), and yes, your clit. Your clit will become amazingly sensitive to touch. The lightest touch will send you into orgasmic bliss.

Guys will feel like real studs when they are with you because you’ll be so orgasmically responsive.

When I started learning how to come like this we did it all the time! OMG, my orgasmic potential just skyrocketed!

What’s great about all this is how much you can learn in a solo practice, even before a guy shows up in your bed.  And then, what I know about men is, they LOVE to please!

What’s also great about having an awareness and ability to move yourself toward Expanded Orgasms is that when you start to come at this level of ability, it calms your nervous system WAY DOWN.

NO MORE LEG CRAMPS

I think what’s going on with your leg cramps is that you are deeply upset right now. The UTI’s are one thing… but feeling like your body is failing you, or preventing you from having intimacy… that will get you upset in ways that manifest in weird reactions like charley horses.

So here’s my cure for that…

YOGA.

It’s time for you to get in your body. Let the upset go. Start giving yourself a lot of orgasms with all that pussy massage first off. But secondly, get to a yoga class.

Yoga twists and stretches reboot the nervous system just like good orgasms do. They will crack open that body armor you have put on from the emotional upset of getting sick from sex. The sick-from-sex just came from you rushing intercourse before becoming fully engorged because you didn’t know any better until now. That is all going to go away for you when you self-pleasure and start to really LOOK AT your Yoni and take pride in how responsive she is.

Especially if you’ve never done yoga, I’d start with Hatha. Hatha is slow, easy and focuses on breathing along with movement.

Here’s a quickly little video of how to breath in a simple Hatha format.  Breathing this way will also melt that armoring you’ve got going on.  Do this breathing as you’re massaging your Yoni in bed at night too.

The yoga will get you relaxed and stretched so you won’t get those leg cramps anymore either.

You are at a wonderful turning point, sweetie. Your body, your world, is about to OPEN UP. I’m excited to think about the transformation you’re about to experience.

Soon you are going to start attracting a much higher quality of lover. Your creativity and self confidence are going to soar. Your emotional resources are going to be bolstered. This is going to be an actual renaissance in your life.

Please keep me updated on your progress.

Because there’s even more I can tell you about opening to your potential through your sexual growth when you’ve gotten your Expanded Orgasm and Hatha Yoga practices going.

So write back to me anytime you get stuck and especially when you experience incredible breakthroughs!

Another modality you may want to look into is Reichian Therapy. Here’s a podcast from our network with our Sex, Love and Intimacy Coach, Chas August with the darling Michele Newmark about orgasmic potency and the root cause of neurosis being the lack of sexual orgasm from emotional tension.

Michele does Kundalini Yoga and Reichian Therapy Intensives here in Northern California. These would be fast-track transformational experiences for you if there is any possibility you could attend.

Again, the Hatha Yoga and Expanded Orgasm path are a perfect combination for you to do yourself.

  1. The absolute best and simplest thing is D-Mannose powder. Buy it in a health food store.
I am 60 years old, have frequent sex, and since I have been using when needed, have no UTIs, which used to be a problem for me when I was younger.

    • Hi there I have a couple of tips for you, first of all pass urine before having sex…. also make sure to use lube, and straight after you have finished, I know it can be a pain you must pass urine so no germs can get into your bladder and cause an infection…I hope this helps.

      • Peeing after sex is an important thing to do consistently. Thank you, Blaise.

  2. I love to make sex, teach me how to do it in an excellent way, thank you very much.

  3. Susan, I wish you had told us exactly what Angela Kilmartin’s procedure is. I did have fully engorged, well lubricated sex, and now I have a dandy UTI.
